Very touching tale of middle-school age twins who love basketball. Well told, often in rhyming verse, with twists and turns, friendships, personal struggles, and love. A very quick and enjoyable read, hard to forget.

Fantastic dystopian tale of a boy who grows up on the streets of a futuristic Los Angeles, and a girl who grows up in a wealthy family. Both have exceptional intelligence and thrive in their respective environments. Fate pits them against one another, and the pace quickens. The story switches between boy, then girl as narrator.

A very long and detailed read about the intriguing life of one of the founding fathers of the United States. The chapters on his beginnings in the Caribbean and in the famous duel were particularly insightful. I also enjoyed the Eliza chapter at the end. As a reward for finishing this, I saw the play in London, and was not disappointed.

Memorable story about a very bright boy born into a difficult situation. Because of this, he is sent to a special school for military (virtual) training at an early age. There are significant unexpected twists in this classic that keep the reader interesteed. For advanced YA readers.

Super cool read about a girl who is significantly different from her peers. Some classify her as weird. She might be brilliant. In any case, she has to navigate a series of devestating events in her life . Everyone around her seems to be affected by her. Challenging but fast read.

This is an interesting tale of a comunity in a world that was manufactured to be free from conflict. What would a perfect world look like to you? What do you think about this author's version of one, and what happens as a result?

Daring story of a compellingly independent young girl who turns out to be braver than she ever expected. It takes place in a cruel world; one that has survival contests with deadly endings. A page turner

Enjoyable dystopic story about a boy who is put into a situation he feels he can have an impact. Characters in this world have their own distinct slang - kind of cool. Kids run the show -- adults are nowhere to be seen.
