I really wanted to like this but I couldn't!
I listened to most of it (audiobook) and it kept making me sleepy on my commutes. I had to stop listening for fear of making me pass out while I was driving.

I did really want to learn about Hamilton especially with the Broadway show being so popular... But maybe it was the guy's voice but it wasn't for me

A month later, I am finally done reading this 818-page tome. Even the cat has collapsed in astonishment and relief.

I saw SIX (AMAZING) on Tuesday and on Wednesday I finally saw after two years of waiting HAMILTON!! It‘s everything a musical should be. I think the dancers and the way the stage moved impressed me the most.

It took Maya exactly one week to find the fellow theater kids in 6th grade at her new school and invite them over for some Broadway shenanigans and Hamilton karaoke.

So far, we‘re both loving the transition to middle school. Plus, theater kids are just awesome, and so accepting of each other no matter their differences. 💜

Yes, I know I‘m probably the last human on the planet to read this 😬... ANYWAY, I was reading during my lunch break and literally laughed out loud at the mental image inspired by this passage. 😄

I finally saw Hamilton last night! It was so amazing and actually made me want to read the book it‘s based on!

Indigo order arrived! Nine Perfect Strangers to go with my mother‘s spa gift certificate to celebrate her retirement, Alexander Hamilton biography as the second hint of the Hamilton tickets my sister is getting for her 40th birthday (first hint is a US $10 bill) and a tote for me that accurately represents my mental state in a book store.

Finally in the room where it happened!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not only is this a fantastic biography of a remarkable Founding Father, it‘s rich in newborn US history. I was shamefully reminded of how little I know of my own country‘s beginnings. Chernow‘s attention to detail and story telling ability made this such an enjoyable and mesmerizing read. Still hard for me to fathom duels, but some weird stuff went down back then (just as different weird stuff goes on now).

I missed my Monday spin class because of a cold, but I‘m feeling munch better today. So, I did 30 mins of legs while listening to Hamilton, then switched to music for a 3000m row. Biographies are not great for cardio. 😆

I love this city! #NYC, one of my two hometowns!

For you fans of “Hamilton”, this is the dueling grounds. This park is on the Weehawken cliffs overlooking the Hudson River and the City, and it‘s named Hamilton Park—and this street is Hamilton Place—as a result.

A short bus ride from the Time Square area—$3 one way, so if you have to go back into the city if you‘re staying there, it‘s a $6 round-trip. No traffic, the ride is 10 minutes tops.

So, this was my morning—Hamilton: The Exhibition. CPS students 4th grade & up get to go for free so I helped chaperone our middle school‘s field trip. Our school is actually named for Alexander Hamilton & the kids were extra thrilled to see the exhibit & share their Hamilton pride. If you‘re a fan of the show or American history, I highly recommend checking it out if you‘re in Chicago. It isn‘t cheap but it‘s a great exhibit.

This has been on my list since, well I‘m sure you can guess since when. I started with a physical copy, but knew that was never going to happen (though I have gotten better at reading physical books) and ended up getting the #audiobook. Good, non-worshippy biography.

I got ONE ticket!!!! Don‘t care, so freakin excited!!!

Part 2 of my #bookhaul from Strand. I‘ve been listening to this on audio and really enjoying it. So I‘m going to start reading - it‘s a chunkster! And of course - not only must I coordinate my book and book mark, I really needed the matching socks too!

The book is just so looooong.

Such an in depth biography of Alexander Hamilton. I loved how it humanized the founding fathers and showed such different sides to a great, but flawed man. After loving the musical I‘m so glad I read this book. #nonfiction #biography #audiobook
