My Sunshine Away | M.O. Walsh
Mehso-so

I had a hard time getting into this book. When I felt empathetic for the love-struck, clueless teen boy, he'd turn around and announce what a horrible, selfish person he was. I felt like the author was slapping by my hand for liking him. The plot was engaging, honest, and relatable (to a '90s child)

...there should be a great swelling symphony of lawn mowers reaping fresh grass upon the prairie lands. Instead of confetti and serpentine, people should throw grass spray at each other on the day each year that really represents the Beginning!

Such a great YA book - part fairy tale, part suspense, part coming of age. Loved it!
