The first step to book addiction recovery is admitting you have a problem. I have not been able to do that yet.

Welcome to my commute for the next little forever. The 38 discs are a bit intimidating. The librarian cringed at the prospect of verifying that all of them were indeed in the case. Don't any of you worry, all present and accounted for.

I have zero desire to add the 650 + books currently on my Goodreads "have read" account on Litsy. That being said, I may share some of my pretty book finds in an attempt to make at least one of you jealous. An Edward Gorey illustrated War of the Worlds? Please let me know if you are turning green.

Exactly what you want to be reading when you're having a whiskey - solo - on St. Paddy's day around midnight:
Feeling lonely exaggerates the inflammation and reactivity to stress that are linked to heart disease while interfering with our ability to retain facts and solve problems...

magictoyshop I did the same! & it was oddly cathartic. Cheers 🍻 7y
Pat_E_Cakes Cheers to you as well @magictoyshop There were no heart attacks and I still remember doing it, so I guess I'm doing alright. Must all be about balance. 7y

Isn't this a quote to define the times:
And we strove to convince one another that our decisions stemmed from ourselves and ourselves alone. Yet we frantically concealed how dependent we were upon one another.

Nothing against Lasalle, ON Canada but you can imagine as I listened to The Road to Little Dribbling on my daily commute for the last couple of weeks, the contrast between the English countryside described in such wonderfully appealing detail - filled with standing stones, sheep, quaint villages and public houses - and what I'm used to in Southwestern Ontario (again, no offense) was both inspiring and disheartening. All in all worth the listen.
