I'm a HUGE sucker for surreal fantasy. I know that because of this beautiful series. Reading these books--let's be real, it's like low-key dropping acid.
I really wanted to believe this wasn't just another "savant detective with middling social skills solves it all, as told by observant assistant who accompanied him on this journey" but...can't have everything. The supernatural bits make it bearable.
