for the longest time, I‘ve been wanting a good intro to EVERYTHING in the universe. Always regretting I didn‘t take astronomy in college, this book was finally the overview I‘ve been searching for and now know which directions to continue my independent studies.

Gosh I love this book so much! I think it might be my “most read” book ever. Been reading it almost yearly since I was a kid. My mom used to read it to me, then my older sibling. This book was a gift from my sibling in 2006 - the year I graduated. Means so much to me.

Wanted to love this book. I really did. But for the first time this year I‘m bailing. I can‘t stand the author. Even when I agree with her, I find her condescending. and I came for pirates, not long history lessons on wars, harems and the church.

That was fun! Quick and easy read. Everyone was really likable. Loved the diversity - even if it felt a tiny bit forced to have every representation, it was really fun nonetheless and I would definitely be on board to find and destroy Jace in a sequel.
Also geeked out hard on the Firefly references, please return to Serenity in the next book! Pleaseeee!
