Some books for school
I'm re-reviewing this as I don't think I judged it fairly the 1st time. I thought that b/c of my feelings during the book, it made the book bad, but then I realized that the author was talented to make me feel these things. There's still things I don't like about the book; how cliche it could be, etc. The author did a wonderful job writing this is sense of emotions. She made me feel horrible and it was evident she had experience w/this topic
The book ended ok. I usually am never content with the way a book ends, but this one didn't leave me wanting more or seem like the story was unfinished. The only thing I liked was at the end, the author adds a list of hotlines for anyone who makes it that far in. This book was too triggering for me. It may be helpful to those who know someone dealing with self harm, but shouldn't be read by those who self harm or are dealing with addiction.
I'm giving this book a bad rating because I find it to be very triggering and full of cliches. I have yet to finish and am only doing so because this is a book I'm reading for school.

Actually, the problem is that I can't lose my mind," I said. "It's inescapable"
I really enjoyed this book. The prose was beautiful, the book was short and a very easy read. It was not the best book I have ever read, though it was very nice. The author kept me enthralled with his writing, only a couple times I found the dialogue to be boring. There are songs interspersed throughout the book. I don't like having to read those because I don't know how they properly go. Overall I give this book a 6/10.
