A story that does not let up... it almost seems fictional! An adventure that leads to despair and then redemption... love this “testimony” of Zamperini‘s life. RIP

Intimidating little book but so worth the read. I was getting impatient to know what had happened to the main character that I had almost stayed up all night to finish the book. Satisfying ending.

I was completely engrossed in this book and could not put it down. As a Korean-American, I loved the details that allowed me to.envision the lives of (possibly) my ancestors living under the reign of Japan. I also appreciated the story covering three generations, allowing readers to have a deeper understanding of the character‘s family history and culture. Aren‘t we all the way we are because of our own history/background?
