Teagan.skretting Glass castle is written in first person point of view, this is established through the in depth details she gives about the traumatic incidents that have happened to her and her family. The author Jeannette walls tells us her thoughts and what she sees through the time of events. This helps captivate the story much more and let us as the readers almost live through her challenges and memories. 2y

The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls
post image

Glass Castle is an amazing autobiography of the writers life and all the hardships she has gone through to get to where she is now. Jeanette Walls had to undergo heaping piles of trauma that changed all of her thoughts on the word she lived in. Her parents are very free spirited and let her and her siblings pretty much do whatever they want, when Walls was three she accidentally lit herself on fire by cooking hotdogs by herself un supervised.

Teagan.skretting This just shows how her parents are not very parent material. Throught out the first couple chapters the Walls family moved to a bunch of new places to escape their Dad's secrets and fears. This ultimately puts a big strain on the family nd their dynamic.
If you like books that have true and sad stories as well as real life problems then you will like this book.

Teagan.skretting One of the themes in this novel is, growing up and perseverance. Throughout the novel we see Jeanette growing up in a very unsteady home life, and how through it all she starts to grow up and stops believing everything she is told. I do believe that she is growing up way too fast and should have more mentally stable parents. 2y
Teagan.skretting As for perseverance, the novel shows that although the Walls family struggles with a lot of problems within their own life they are able to make it through and do it without showing any type of emotions towards these problems. 2y
