Pretty baby was just ok for me. The story was interesting but never got exciting to me. I admit that I had high expectations after enjoying the twists and turns of the good girl. Worth a read but not a must read in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this story of life and the connection of culture and family. I thought the writing was beautiful and thought provoking. I often found myself going back and re-reading sentences to let the weight of them sink in. I could have used more closure at the end. I wanted more of the story!

I really enjoyed this book about a family mystery spanning 70 years. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing and re-guessing to the end. The story makes you think about why people do the things they do whether it be for love, duty or moral code. Lots of characters and lots of details. I wanted to read this book much faster than I could. I found myself going back a few pages several times. It changes gears quickly!

Read this book as part of a small group study. Also followed along with the video study. The author presented a list of common issues that women deal with and gave advice on how to work through those issues. I liked that she never made you feel bad about struggling with one or all of the issues. The author is a counselor and I enjoyed that perspective along with the biblical. I would recommend for a small group women's Bible study.

Fast moving suspense/mystery with a story within a story. I am not sure the present day story was as well connected to the story set in the past but I enjoyed the book anyway. A good way to pass a rainy day.

Enjoyed this easy read. A light historical fiction set in New York City and Ellis island. The story follows two characters, one from the past, and one from the present as they both come to terms with love lost after a tragic event. Both women are connected by the same scarf. The author does a good job of weaving the story together between the two women.

I like Moriarty's cast of moms...and dads in this quick and funny read. There is enough suspense to keep you guessing and reading just to the next chapter 😉 This was a fun and easy read.

Story about an orphaned boy's search for his mother and a revelation of the journey that leads to that point. I struggled with the beginning, became intrigued in the middle but felt the ending fell flat.

Struggling with this one. I am probably a third of the way through and I feel like it is slow and a bit redundant. Should I push through or bail?

This book has been on my to read list for a long time. It did not disappoint. Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story set in occupied France during WWII. The choices these women made to survive and their courage is humbling. Choosing to not be blind to others suffering is difficult but necessary.

Quick heartwarming read. Julia brings us along as she looks back over her life as baby of a large family working her younger years a the family's restaurants. Mostly reminiscing of time spent with her father George and their sweet and evolving relationship.

I thought I would love this book. The mystery draws you in immediately. The story became old for me about three quarters of the way through. The ending was good though I don't know if the end was a choice or was forced. I keep going back and forth. Good book to pass the time but not a must read.
