Psycho | Robert Bloch

This is one of the best mysteries I've ever read. It is very compact in its writing. There are no wasted words in it. There is not too much plot. There is no - nor a need for - filler. It even has a slight mystery at the end. With apologies for an odd way to put it - odd though being just right for a Robert Bloch mystery - it is exactly the right size. His language use is perfect as well. Robert Bloch earned his rep. He wrote quite well.

Never Look Back | Alison Gaylin

I was impressed by how believable this book was in its' twists. Even by the standards of “twist“ fiction it was well handled, with an ending that while up to a point cliched was led to with sufficient originality that I was wondering who was who up until that point, and the overall path that led to it was very effective; I found it to be quite entertaining, and the identify of the big bad truly was well kept a secret.
