Psycho | Robert Bloch

This is one of the best mysteries I've ever read. It is very compact in its writing. There are no wasted words in it. There is not too much plot. There is no - nor a need for - filler. It even has a slight mystery at the end. With apologies for an odd way to put it - odd though being just right for a Robert Bloch mystery - it is exactly the right size. His language use is perfect as well. Robert Bloch earned his rep. He wrote quite well.

First movie watched for #Scarathlon! Hulu coming through with this documentary about Alfred Hitchcock‘s Psycho. Not one of my favorite Hitchcock films, but very interested to learn more about this movie. Check it out - 78/52: Hitchcock‘s Shower Scene (features lots of interviews with famous actors and directors).

I‘m not sure what I would do without audiobooks. I enjoyed listening to all six of the books pictured above.

Reggie Was anyone a standout? 4mo
Bookzombie @Reggie The outside 5 are all series I‘m either in the middle of or just started. I really enjoyed Stalking Jack the Ripper, but Psycho probably stands out the most. Hitchcock adapted the book well, but even though I knew the story I was drawn in. 4mo
Bookzombie @Reggie Thanks for asking. I should have written something on each book. 🙂 4mo

Of course I knew what was going to happen, I was familiar with the movie and watched the series. However, this book was just different enough to keep me wondering. I was intrigued that Hitchcock had bought up all copies of it before he made his movie, so as not to spoil the ending. I can‘t quite put my finger on it, but the book seemed to have a different tone. Overall I enjoyed it and it was a super quick listen at 5ish hrs

That was fun!!!! So unexpected for a book written in the late 50s but Hitch did a great job of adapting it. If you've seen the film, it's not far off from the novel. If you're a fan, this is worth reading & it's fairly short!

It goes without saying really, as this book already has 100% positive ratings xD However for those that haven't read it, there is so much power in such a short novel! The way in which you can truly enter the confused mind of Norman Bates in so few words is a true gift that Bloch gives the reader! 10/10 ✨#psycho #normanbates

While driving to Columbus today, I was able to finish this audiobook. Even though I have seen the movie and knew the spoiler, I still enjoyed it. I can imagine this was pretty shocking to people who read it for the first time back when it came out. It was quick, and Norman Bates is just as creepy here as he was in the movie.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to read this, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! The movie is one of my favorites, and with the exception of the descriptions of the characters being different from the movie, Hitchcock stayed very true to the book. Thank you for the awesome #giveaway @TricksyTails !
