One of the most terrible books I've ever read because of the subject and the fact that it all happened. The book is about a political prison from Romania, used by communists against those considered enemies of the nation. The study is well done, contains many names and dates, and it's something people need to know about. They destroyed hundreds of people, with little chance of ever recovering from that experience...

It was an interesting read, but my initial opinion changed a bit. I liked it mostly because I could often identify with the author, but I also understand now the difference between writing a journal for publication or for personal use only. She wrote partially about things and there was no way to find out "how it ended"...

Another book from the local library! I couldn't decide in which language to read it, but I really like getting books from the library and the feeling of paper under my fingertips, so translation it is 😁#currentlyreading

? I'm #currentlyreading a journal written by a Romanian girl between 1932-1947. The translation of the title would be "The Journal of a Hard-to-Please Girl". It was published without her consent by her brother, 33 years after her death, making it somewhat controversial. He went through a lot to protect the manuscripts during political unrest in the country! Plus there's a story about the notebooks being kept in a metal chest underground ⛏

After living in Sweden for two years I totally get it. It's something people do there and they actually live better than any other place I've been to, are calmer and less stressed... Hygge is a lifestyle!

This is an adorable book presenting a concept that would make our lives better. It's not that we don't already do these things, but give it a name and we acknowledge it. How could a book about happiness be bad? Why is it so bad to want to be happy or to make a lifestyle out of it? I don't get the bad reviews this book sometimes gets, but I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to make their life better.

Jess7 @Tiffy_Reads this is perfect for the #letshyggeswap book exchange you're putting together! @LittleWonder 7y

This book remains on my mind because it made me think about stuff. It made me rethink age differences in relationships when the woman is older; fantastic things happening to regular people; the chance of so many amazing things happening to a small group of knitters... The book bluntly showed me that sometimes I'm hypocritical. It's a book that made me feel strange for a number of reasons and I feel like I should rethink my life.

Evening read takes me back to the time I saw the movie adaptation. I remember the movie didn't have any soundtrack and somehow that's how the book feels like as well. There's a certain silence that comes with reading it, but the voices of the characters are still strangers to me. I've no idea what to think of it after the first chapter. #currentlyreading

Reading this book makes me understand so much about good political practices! How is this not mandatory literature in every school? I can't imagine a world where the citizens would actually be educated in how to live together; it's just unfathomable for me. #currentlyreading
