Lilac Girls: A Novel | Martha Hall Kelly
Pickpick

Historical fiction. Another side of WW II that I needed to be reminded of, the medical experimenting on women in concentration camps. Needed to set the book down at points as the thought of human experimentation was hard to justify, how Caroline Ferriday worked tirelessly for her standards was amazing! Loved how the author interwove the lives of three women, one in NYC, one in Poland and one in Germany. The author‘s 1st novel, what next!

So important to get an understanding of other‘s way of life. Great description of a very hard life in Puerto Rico but how the author appreciated her rural life over the city living in Puerto Rico. Inspirational as the author was able to overcome many hardships to get the eduction that she wanted.

Great read! The author was able to pull historical aspects and merge them with the story line.
