Picked this up years ago in a charity shop and never read it. The last 2 months have been hectic, so I decided to finally read this shorter book to get me back into reading again. Not bad, some of the grammar isn't the best and it jumps around a bit, but overall I did enjoy it. Everyone enjoys a bit of "chick lit" with some love and drama from time to time

Based on a plantation in Virginia in the late 1700s, the stories tells the tale of an orphaned girl from Ireland from hers and her new mother's perspective. A sad tale of slavery and what life was like then

Amazing! Read this in one day, I don't want to give anything away but it's set around a family tragedy and their eventual trip to a lodge in Scotland. Just read it. It's so good!

Bought this as a present for my grandmother and now all 3 generations have read it. Loved this, although I abandoned it once or twice, but it was worth finishing. Another WW2 based book, this time in Paris and deals with refugees and the tension of the Germans taking over Paris. Excellent read.

An interesting take on where stories come from, but a little difficult to get into. Appreciated the LGBTQIA element, which definitely helped the story. It was just a little hard to follow at times

Excellent book! I read a lot of WW2 based novels, but this was my first based in Pearl Harbor. Kept you guessing and my jaw genuinely dropped a few times. Great read.
