Missing, Presumed is a story split 3 ways: a mystery thriller about the disappearance of a girl from a prominent family, a personal portrait of the detectives‘ lives as they struggle to balance their work and their personal life, and an examination of how crimes cause a ripple effect in communities. The mystery at the heart of the novel is subdued. With more focus, Missing, Presumed would have stood out in themarket of “woman missing” novels.
