I had high hopes for this one and was disappointed. I could not connect with the author despite keeping an open mind and heart. It was so disjointed and came across as a whingeing mess. Tossing it in the donate pile and hoping the next owner can connect with it more than I.

The Troubles have always been complex. This book was clear in its aim of breaking down the history of the conflict and consistently met the mark in a readable way while also being deeply moving as it paid proper attention to the lives lost. To read is to understand a baffling point in history and I can not recommend it enough.
