Good as fantasy YA goes. I will definitely finish the series. I might be close to peak YA though... I can only take so much teenage pining and sadness when others "just don't understand."

I think The Sparrow is in the same vain as The Martian, but the human, soul side of a story instead of the science, man-against-nature side. It's all about the relationships between the people on the voyage and their own internal struggles. I'm liking it so far. Half way done.
