One of my all-time faves, I really loved this story. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down. You know it's a great book when there's disappointment after reading the last sentence on the last page. Masterful storytelling.

Loved the relationship between boy and grandfather. A simple story, yet deals with complex issues such as family relationships, death and sorrow. The author deals with these complex issues with an even hand - the reader is not preached at. A delightful book for the young and young at heart.
