This must be what @Litsy is after with this character limit. I‘m having to really restrain myself to fit within the required amount. Will this make me a better writer?Perhaps. It could potentially hone my editing skills. But still this is a forum to review novels. Why can‘t I write one? Sometimes I feel like I have more to . . .

Chelleo Hi! Welcome to Litsy! You can write reviews but yes, they will be abbreviated. You can post a link to a longer review elsewhere (Like to LibraryThing or GR). Some people expand/continue in the comments like this... Continued 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 6y

Selected Poems | Robinson Jeffers
post image
Pickpick

Why do humans feel so compelled to try and leave our mark on the world? Jeffers doesn‘t answer the question for us, but his poetry acknowledges the futility and nobility of trying to fulfill this longing. He reminds us it is a brave thing to pour your energy into art that will likely be forgotten. But we must press on and challenge oblivion, if only for the comfort we bring to others trying to do the same.

Alice in Wonderland | Lewis Carroll
post image

There was once a little girl named Alice who used to peep through the key hole in this door to see the garden parties on the other side. Liddel did she know her family friend Lewis Carroll would borrow her first name and spirit of curiosity for the main character in one of the most imaginative novels ever written. For a Literature nerd like me, Christ‘s Church really was a wonderland!

F. Scott Fitzgerald on writing | Francis Scott Fitzgerald

“That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you‘re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”
