LinesUponAPage My husband‘s favorite book. He says if Viktor Frankel can have a positive attitude being in a concentration camp who are we to be so pissy during this pandemic? I‘ve seen too many rude souls to essential workers in the grocery store that i had to say something to a woman who yelled at a deli counter girl, then yelled at the checkout girl because they weren‘t “fast” enough. I used the Pollyanna approach smiled & told her to have a great day. 4y

Birthday girl is a story about the girl working on her birthday, that particular day she has to serve dinner to her boss where she is waitress. Seems ordinary but after an odd conversation, the man asks her to make a wish on her birthday, any wish and it will be fulfilled. The book never mentions the wish of the girl or if it has been granted and that is the beauty of the story. Birthday girl being short and simple lingered on my mind for days.
