I recognize the importance of this book but, honestly, I just didn't find it to be an enjoyable read. In fact, upon completion, I felt thoroughly skull-fucked by its depressing realism.

I picked this up at a library sale....so glad I did! Blown away by the intricacies of this story and how 3 dimensional the characters are. I knew nothing of this author or this book beforehand but I will definitely be checking out more of his work.

So it's been a while since I have read a book that I wanted to stay up past my bedtime for.... so glad this was our first assigned book at book club. I adored the ending...very appropriate.
