Pickpick

In a time of extreme and scary partisanship, this book begins with a great concept: that the “free market” versus “government control” level debates are a myth and and a distraction to what is actually happening - that the richest people and corporations are changing the rules to benefit themselves. Any book that talks about economic policy and proposals while barely using the words “republican” or “democrat” is much needed.

sarahlandis Sounds so interesting- definitely want to add it to my list! 3y

Good, short essays with lots of pictures. Good book for getting the imagination flowing, not anything detailed.

I feel like the book doesn‘t hit a sweet spot. It‘s too dumbed down to be a good read by people who are well-versed in economics but too technical for more general readers. I‘m someone who lives numbers and statistics but not too familiar with macroeconomic terms. I loved and agreed with his arguments but his repetition and sometimes overly-technical analysis made me wish this book was 100 pages shorter. And it was only 216 pages.
