Pickpick

When I picked up Uprooted, I was hoping it would break the reading slump I was in. Lately, everything I've read couldn't hold my attention long. So I went into this book with both hope and apprehension. I'm SO GLAD I listened to the Kinokuniya list recommending Uprooted. Agneiszka is a fascinating protagonist but Sarkan was a delight to know and Uprooted definitely gives new meaning to the line "the woods are lovely, dark and deep..."

This was on the "recommended fantasy" list in the Bangkok #Kinokuniya earlier this year when I picked it. The blurb seems interesting and it has a female protagonist so I'm going in with high expectations and hoping it breaks my good-new-read slump *fingers crossed* ??

Ran thru Six of Crows yesterday from end to end. And what an adventure it was. Today i'm off to join Kaz and crew as they take on the world in the second part of the duology and the anticipation is running high.
Kaz is a marvellous protagonist: so chilling, so calculated, so deliciously dangerous and yet so human. Been a while since i read a hero so well-crafted that he puts cold-blooded villains to shame in the best way possible ❤️️

Pickpick

neverwhere is my absolute favourite neil gaiman story and i make it a point to reread it yearly. i'm stoked with my illustrated version because chris riddell's sketches just add to the whole experience. plus it contains extra material including the short story about how the marquis got his coat back so yaaay! ❤❤

every Halloween, i revisit The Graveyard Book... if only to read the chapter about the Danse Macabre. there's a magic in those pages that comes alive particularly during this time of year. this book remains my favourite Halloween choice 😆😆
