I really tried to stick this one out but couldn't. The main character was awful: shallow and completely unrelatable. Didn't think her fella was much better either. Sorry Amy Lynch, more relatable characters needed. Build some empathy for her!

Another cracker by Lucy diamond
I like how she writes the protagonists separately before bringing them together, really helps you to empathise with them. Loved the row between Emma and Lillian, luckily my future mother in law is already Lillian in the second half! Give this book a chance though, it picks up speed after 3 chapters or so and is a lovely read. PS, Charlie was my favourite jones.
I loved this book. A lot going on and it was effortless how the writer flowed between the characters before finally bringing them together. There's heartache, romance, friendship, sorrow and joy. What more could you want?
The writing on this wasn't perfect. There were times where it didn't quite feel seamless. BUT it was just a lovely charming read. Very quintisentially British and just lovely. Will certainly read another by this author. Also, reading this book at work prompted my colleagues to call me twee so I'm delighted !
Witty and charming. Love the plot, it was nice easy read but still entertaining. Loved the ending too!
Hilarious! Reminds me of me in a way as I can't cook either. Was sad when it ended.
Funny and relatable, this was a charming read all about romance and adventure. Made me want to pack my bags and run off to Thailand!
Wow, a tale of the the hardest times. This book is narrated by death himself and described some of the horrors of world war 2 for a German family. Please do yourselves a favour and read this book. It made me sob, laugh and sob again. Cannot recommend enough!!
What a gripping tale! I found this book after my cousin posted a picture on social media of the opening paragraph. It's so narcissistic and melancholy but it just keeps reeling you in. I both dislike and root for the author, pity yet scorn. It's very well written. Wish I knew who the author was!
Currently halfway through and really enjoying it. I usually struggle with classics due to the lengthy sentences but this is great. The story is being set really well and is about to pick up even more.
Informative and interesting. It's great to be able to get the key points in a short book. Highly recommend if you enjoy history
