Enjoying some reading at the beach house 🌴🌊
What a pleasant morning with a nice new book 💜
"Pride...is a very common failing, I believe. By all that I have ever read, I am convinced that...human nature is particularly prone to it, and that there are very few of us who do not cherish a feeling of self-complacency on the score of some quality or another, real or imaginary." -Mary, pp17
I (finally) finished The Beach Club, the first of these two novels - and everyone's comments were true. It was a bore, with little conflict and shallow characters that I didn't empathize with. A good light read for summer, but nothing extraordinary or genius. 📚📖
Doing some reading out in the woods while my baby is shooting ❤️ Not sure how good this one will be because it isn't that popular, but I guess we'll see!
My first book this summer! A wonderful gift from my boyfriend that he got off the $3 rack at a grocery store 😂 But if it's good, perhaps I'll read more by Brad Taylor!
Maybe girls need an island to find themselves. Maybe they need a place where no one's watching them so they can be who they really are. 💖
