Angela's Ashes | Frank McCourt

This is one of the funniest yet saddest books I have read. I was captivated by the ability to narrate such difficult experiences with humor without diminishing the depth of the tragedies. I laugh, but I am equally sad. The book illustrates how life can be both: it can bear immense pain and also carry hope and life without detracting from one another. A masterpiece in my eyes.

marleed I think I‘ll never get over this book. 1w

This book touches on so many layers in the field of therapy. The mental processes of the patient, the mental processes of the therapist, and the mental processes of the therapist as a patient. Along with the professional material presented in a pleasant and professional manner, the book also flows well and is enjoyable to read. It is one of the best therapeutic books I have read . The book made me really want to go back and talk to someone!

The Gambler | Fyodor Dostoyevsky

My Favorite Book by Dostoyevsky

Short, impactful, and as is customary for him, it manages to unfold particularly complex psychological processes through story and characters. In my work, I have heard stories from gamblers, but reading the book and entering the soul and emotional turmoil of a gambler, even feeling empathy towards him, is certainly beyond my ability to describe the book. It is worth reading not just once.
