The Bride Test | Helen Hoang

“He closed his arms around her and hugged her. An uneven sigh warmed his chest, and she sagged against him with a murmur. Almost instantly, her trembling faded. An unusual kind of satisfaction spread through him, better than perfect increments of time or a whole dollar amounts at the gas station. He‘d taken her sadness away.”

This book made me feel ? lol. However, as shocked or uncomfortable as I was at certain points, I felt totally immersed in Celeste's world. Everything about her inner monologue, her feelings, and her actions seemed incredibly realistic. "They‘d never feel their libido a deformed thing to be kept chained up in the attic of their mind and to only be fed in secret after dark."

Just as weird and awesome as @Liberty promised it would be! Chevere thinks so, too. 😏

This book makes me happy and makes me laugh even though its title makes feel like I need to be prepared to explain what it's about at a moment's notice when I read it in public lol

While I am thrilled a book like this exists, I felt like Melissa would have gone through way worse. The support she received from so many important people in her life was beautiful, but seemed unrealistic. I also thought there was a missed opportunity in having her already know at the outset what being transgender was/that gender reassignment surgery exists. That being said, I think the book is important and inclusive and should be read & shared.

In honor of National Book Lovers Day 😍, I am reading this gem 🙌🏽 -- shoutout to Rebecca Schinsky of All the Books for putting me on! Nagoski is blowing my mind!!! Being a book lover has always been a huge part of my identity. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have the ability to experience the joy of reading and to have the means to surround myself with beautiful, amazing, thought-provoking, and life-changing books. 🤓❤️📚

MASSIVE Bay Area book haul 😍 -- starting off with The Age of Selfishness, which is awesome, but is making me feel pretty naive about having loved The Fountainhead so much. Looking forward to opening my mind 💭

Read half of this on my flight to Vegas and its UH-MAZING. Amanda Nelson really knows her shit lol. Pretty sure I've had this on my TBR since Book Riot Live's Romance panel. So happy I finally picked it up.

Look what came in the mail today!! Pretty sure all the universe conspired to have me read this: 1) Published on my birthday; 2) Author is probably related to me; 3) Back cover: "But Juliet has a plan, sort of, one that's going to help her figure out this whole 'Puerto Rican lesbian' thing." ????

This is a great YA novel about a young woman's experience being trans. It was so timely with all of the ignorance I've been hearing recently regarding trans rights/issues. I really appreciated Russo's notes at the end of the book about its limitations and trans experience not being a monolith.

This afternoon, my judge told me to read this book, so I'm at Barnes & Nobles (#Fridaynightturnup) checking it out - thoughts anyone?

KennethTolesJr Very good book so far. I'm about halfway through it. I have several literature courses to take, before I graduate in September, so I haven't gotten a chance to finish it. It's King, though... Of course it's awesome. 9y

LOVED this book! Almost wish I didn't have it already, so I could buy it again. Willowdean is so brave and beautiful. She is just the protagonist young women need to hear about. I wish this book had been around when I was younger, but even as an adult it was an awesome read!
