A gorgeous story that manages to keep an MG vibe while still looking deeply into the way war polarizes groups of people. Suzanne Lafluer tackles the humanity behind the two sides at war, by focusing on the families and the children caught up in the middle. Lafluer brilliantly those children as a means of code breaking, and actually giving them a place in the unfolding event. This book is definitely MG friendly, and beautifully written!
