Pickpick

I breezed through it in 3 days. it's delightful, tho maybe a teensy bit heavy on the intellectualism of the dad. having picked it up because of a Dark Academia reading list I subconsciously compared it to The Secret History, which it resembles in a few lone points - Calamity Physics feels more alive though, less aesthetic. and it raised a number of personal questions, which I hope I'll be able to answer in time...

Mehso-so

this marks the end of my clubkid obsession, I feel. most of the book is already known thru movies and documentaries. the part about Mavis is new. I liked hearing more about Freeze, and the book painted a different picture of him than any documentary.
James' style is overdramatic and relies heavily on italics, bold, and capslock. he'd be a hit on tumblr.
a nice, fast read, especially fast if you've got prior knowledge.
