How did you choose this book: While in the school library, the cover interested me and I needed a new book, so I decided to try it.

sofia.aniela 12-year-old Wren Kaiser does not know how to cope after learning about her father's plane crash that resulted in him dying. Devastated, she decided to shut herself out, while her mother, angry, decides to act out of her emotions and pack all her husbands belongings in a trash bag. As time goes by, money gets tight, and Wren and her mother pack up their stuff and decide to leave Marietta, Georgia, and leave all the memories behind. 4y
sofia.aniela They go to multiple cities, such as Chattanooga, Tennessee, where her mother gets a new job and a new man and Wren is enrolled in a new school. This goes for a while, until her mother decides to move to Ohio, and the pattern continues. Finally, they move to a town called Pyramid, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. 4y
sofia.aniela Here Wren makes friends and learns how to open up, as well as helping others through their grieving process. They do this while trying to save a pond that has a connection with her father.

sofia.aniela The last book in this series starts off with Amy and The Order trying to repair the damage that has impacted Oz and Kansas. They soon learn one betrayed them, and they realize Dorothy isn‘t the highest person in power. After a long fight for what is right, they succeed. Finally, at the end of this series, they regain Oz to it's whole entirety.

How did you choose this book: I had seen one of my old friends read this book, and decided to give it a try (the cover looked aesthetically pleasing).

sofia.aniela Amy Gumm is a normal teenager from Kansas. She goes to school, lives in a trailer, and has a substance-abusing mother. When her mother leaves to party with her friends, Amy is left in the trailer by herself. A tornado hit, and somehow she ended up in Oz. A mysterious man named Pete guides her to Emerald City, and tells her about what's been going on in Oz. Dorothy, another human from Kansas, hasn‘t been the nicest of leaders. 4y
sofia.aniela She became magic hungry, draining out all the magic form different parts of Oz and placing it inside her castle. No one could do anything about this, because with one small order from Dorothy, they could be killed. Fortunately, there is one group that wants to stop Dorothy, but they aren‘t strong enough. When Amy arrives, they are confident she will be the one to kill Dorothy, as they we're from the same place. 4y

Secrets are slowly told, and things such as suicide are spoken about in the book. Gavin slowly changes hobbies from a tennis player to a photographer. Before he met her, his decisions were based on his popularity and his family's wealth. As the book progresses, he finds his true self while taking risks in between. 4y

How did you choose this book: I recently found this while cleaning my room and realized I never read it. I saw the movie, and decided to compare the book and film with each other.

sofia.aniela Starr Carter is a 16 year old black girl that attended a party in her neighbourhood, Garden Heights. She reunites with her old friends, but people with guns roll around and start a conflict. Quick to get away, Starr and her friend Khalil leave the party. As they were driving around, a police car comes after them and asks them for the proper papers and ID. 4y
sofia.aniela Starr has always been taught to respect the police, but Khalil, being the stubborn one, decides to “play around” and not give in for the first few questions. Once he obeyed the officer, he does something that scares the officer, causing him to shoot. This was the moment Khalil died. The rest of this book talks about the injustice and racism that goes on in society. Although a white police man committed murder, he did not get arrested. 4y

How did you choose this book: Because I loved “Everything,everything“ by Nicola Yoon, I decided to check out her other books (this is one of them).

sofia.aniela Natasha Kingsley had just found out she would be deported because of something her father did. She doesn't have much time, since they are getting deported the next day. She goes out of her way to book appointments to prevent all of this from happening, since she considers United States as her home. As she tries to find solutions to this problem, she meets a Korean soon-to-be Yale students, Daniel Bae. 4y
sofia.aniela He was running errands before his big interview that determines if he gets into Yale or not. When they met, it wasn‘t lovey dovey. Natasha didn‘t believe in things that weren‘t factual. She didn‘t believe in love, or have any dreams. She was the exact opposite of Daniel, but that's what attracted her to him. 4y
sofia.aniela As they spend possibly Natasha‘s last day in America, she realizes maybe everything doesn‘t have to be related to science, and love might be a real thing.

Spoiler: Unfortunately, they we're not able to do anything, and Natasha and her family got deported.

sofia.aniela Rachel Chu is a American Chinese college professor that is in love with Nick Young. What she doesn't know, is that Nick Young is apart of a multi-millionaire family based in Singapore. When Nick asks Rachel to accompany him to his best friend's wedding, she agrees, since she wants to meet his family. When she arrives, she has no clue what to say, what to do, and overall how to act. She is not like them, because her values and morals are different. 4y
sofia.aniela Nicks mother, Ealanore, tries to make her leave Nick, and after so much trying, Rachel does. In the end, after facing all these obstacles regarding families, stereotypes, and friends, Nick and Rachel found their way together once more.

Madeline Whittier is a 17 year old girl who has never been outside. She suffers from SCID, which prevents her from going out. When a boy next door moves in, she decides to become friends with him. Together they explore the world, despite her disease. She learns a very important secret at the end, when she finds out she never has SCID, but her paranoid mother was just scare of losing her.
