"Sparks leaped from the hearth and settled onto my fingers, heat drawn to heat, and glittered like molten gems against my skin." This sentence from the book is very compelling. It shows that that character has some sort of special ability, since they are able to hold something so hot directly on their skin. This quote is also a great example of how amazingly descriptive the author's writing is. Readers will be drawn in to read it. @MrsBabki

I realized that I had forgotten to write about Frostblood after I had written about the other two books in the trilogy, so here it is. Frostblood is an exceptional novel. I truly love the personality of the main character Ruby. She is independent, clever, powerful, and courageous. It was impossible to put the book down every night. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a page turning, fast-paced read with a sizzling romance. @MrsBabki

The Raven Boys | Maggie Stiefvater

"There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Marks Eve. Either you're his true love . . . or you killed him." I especially love this quote from the raven boys because it easily gets the reader hooked. Mentioning true loves or spirits lets us know that there is a bit of romance and fantasy in the book. @MrsBabki

Under the Never Sky | Veronica Rossi

I would say this is definitely in my top 5 reads. Veronica Rossi is an outstanding writer and knows how to get you hooked on every page. Under the Never Sky is a young adult, romance, and science fiction novel. Each chapter gets more and more exciting and throughout the book you start to notice different personality traits in each character. Under the Never Sky is so well developed, anyone who loves romance will be a fan of it. @MrsBabki

The Blackthorn Key | Kevin Sands

The Blackthorn Key was a phenomenal read. Its genres are historical/paranormal fiction. The story is set in 1665 in London England. The novel contains many codes and puzzles in which the main character (Christopher Rowe) has to decipher. Kevin Sands has really created a masterpiece of a book. I would highly recommend The Blackthorn Key if you love suspense, mystery, action, and fantasy rolled all into one fantastic novel! @MrsBabki

Linger (Shiver, Book 2) | Maggie Stiefvater

I would say that Linger is just as good as the first book. I love the character's different personalities. Shiver includes the perspectives of Sam and Grace, which are the main characters. However, Linger includes the perspectives of two other characters alongside Sam and Grace. I find the alternating perspectives of the characters make the book so much more exciting. I would definitely recommend Linger to anyone who enjoyed Shiver. @MrsBabki

The Raven Boys | Stiefvater, Maggie

I just started The Raven Boys and I am currently on page 32. The book starts off pretty slow but it looks like it's going to be a good read. The Raven Boys is a fantasy fiction novel with a bit of romance and mystery. I really like Maggie Stiefvater's writing style and have enjoyed some of her other books so I am sure this one will also be quite good. @MrsBabki

Shiver | Maggie Stiefvater

I would definitely recommend Shiver to anyone who loves a romantic werewolf style novel. Maggie Stiefvater does an excellent job in using the different senses to pull in your attention. Shiver includes a lot of aspects of a real and fantasy romance between the characters, which I absolutely love. Maggie's take on werewolves is different than most, but I would certainly say that it's better. @MrsBabki

What If It's Us | Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera

I absolutely loved this book. I don't usually enjoy realistic fiction novels but I have to say this was an excellent read. To anyone who loves romance novels with a bit of drama, I would highly recommend What If It's Us. Becky Albertalli has made two very well developed and different main characters. This makes the book so much more interesting because we get to see how they interact with eachother. Overall this was an amazing read. @MrsBabki

Never Fade (Bonus Content) | Alexandra Bracken
post image

Never Fade is Alexandra Bracken's second book in the Darkest Minds series. I can already tell this is going to be a great novel. The beginning of the book starts off with a lot of action (which I love). Alexandra's writing is so descriptive! It really paints a picture for her readers. The new characters that the author introduces are very well developed. I am so hooked and excited to read this book and the rest of the series. @MrsBabki

The Shining | Stephen King
post image

If you don't like slow paced books this is probably not the read for you. I am already on page 158 and nothing scary or creepy has happened yet. But besides this, The Shining is very well written and has fantastic vocabulary. Stephen King (the author) portrays very well what the characters sound like as they speak. Overall, anyone who doesn't mind a slow paced horror would certainly enjoy The Shining. @MrsBabki

This is the third and also last book in the Frostblood series. If you liked the first and second books, you are sure to love Nightblood. In this thrilling adventure, it is up to Ruby to protect the world from the bloodthirsty Minax.

I am currently on page 299. I am really enjoying this action packed novel. It is quite fast paced and very engaging. Fireblood, the second book in the Frostblood series also has a bit of romance. A girl named Ruby struggles to prove her worth as a fireblood in a kingdom where their fearless queen tests the young girl's abilities.@MrsBabki @Cfischbuch
