Stranger in a Strange Land | Robert A. Heinlein
Pickpick

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first half of this book. It was just all around fun to read. The second half really dragged for me, though. I guess you could say I just didn't grok the second half. Regardless, it was great and worth the read on its status as a classic alone.

Brave New World | Aldous Huxley

This was surreal to read in the political and social climate of 2018. The opening scene instantly hooked me and the book is not long, so it's a must read for all who enjoy fiction in general. I liked that the book really makes you wonder what it would be like to live in such a society; where you have almost no agency but you are biologically and pharmacologically gauranteed to be happy.

Whew. What an adventure this was! Millard excellently weaves the journey in to a story that kept me engaged. I really enjoyed the extra information about the Amazon's ecosystems and this history of Brazil and the Amazon. If you want to know more about Theodore Roosevelt, the Amazon, or early 20th centurl exploration, check it out!
