July 10th Saul Bellows birthday.(1915-2005) Funny how memories are . I remember distinctly that I finished the tagged book at the Washington Square Hotel ,Greenwich Village, May 2000. I‘ve read some of the other ones too, I‘d have to look up the dates.
vivastory I have several Bellow books, but he's still TBR for me. Hope to remedy this soon! 5y
Leftcoastzen @vivastory he wrestles with many mid century dilemmas, commercial success vs.art , psychology, appearances vs. reality , transcendence, too much meaningless information & love for the illusions of success, hey wait, we still write & read about that stuff , don‘t we? 5y
vivastory The too much meaningless info and love for the illusion of success definitely makes me think of Saunders 5y
