Mehso-so

I can see why this series is considered the forerunner of James Bond, Bourne etc. And it is a fast-paced action thriller. But it has some very outdated/old fashioned stereotypes in here that mean I can't say it's a pick. It's not great in its treatment of gay characters and the fact that the baddie is deformed just adds on to that. But bearing that in mind, if you can see it as of its time, it's quite good.

This is my Tuesday train book - I think I'm having a mystery week, but I'm always looking for (good) classic stuff - these were originally written in the 1930s and haven't been republished since. I'll report back #littens!

Verity @KarenUK and @BookishMarginalia it looks straight out of a Poirot title sequence doesn't it? 8y
