Bailedbailed

I had to bail on this one. The audio narrator is just ok, but my main problem is with the main character. For a curvy girl who supposedly very confident in her skin she really isn‘t, she actually comes off as insecure and angry. As a fellow curvy girl I am always looking for positive representation in books but unfortunately this fell flat. #romantsy

iread2much It‘s hard to find a curvy girl with confidence who is also not a sap in literature. Too bad this disappoints 6y
Nessavamusic @iread2much So true, there are a few gems, but I‘m always on the look out for new! 6y

I am reading more on my ereader these days, but you can't, in my opinion, beat real paper. Anyone gone almost all digital?

(Pic from Facebook. Had to share 😜)

Suet624 No digital at all. 8y
Moray_Reads I'd be bankrupt if I didn't read mostly library books. I tend to buy physical books if it's a independent publisher (or a beautiful cover!), for big names it's usually an eBook to save on space 8y
rachelm @Suet624 that's amazing! 8y

rachelm @Moray_Reads makes perfect sense. And I'm like you about the library... although digital lending via the library is pretty slick too 8y
Moray_Reads @rachelm I haven't tried it yet but it is available. I should probably get on with it! 8y
Suet624 @Moray_Reads, my books are all library books too. I have 3 libraries within a 10 minute drive and a fourth 20 minutes away. All different towns. :) 8y
celtichik Mostly digital reads now...except for older stuff that I can't find digital for....and cookbooks. I've tried using tablets and my paperwhite but I've come to the conclusion that I'm way too klutzy for that in the kitchen! 8y
Moray_Reads @Suet624 Libraries, where would we be without them? 😊 8y
britt_brooke I read probably 75% on my Paperwhite. I love it! Physical books are wonderful, too, of course, and much prettier. But like I read in My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry (last night, on my kindle), "It's still a book if you're reading it on an [ereader]. Soup is soup whatever bowl it's in." 8y
rachelm @celtichik I'm way too clumsy for digital cookbooks. It would be like, whoops-- entire pot of chili on a the iPad 8y
rachelm @britt_brooke that's impressive! I love that quote :) 8y
sparklemotion I balance it out because too much screen time makes my eyes tired (even when I dim the brightness), but I love my kindle :) 8y
DGRachel I bought mostly eBooks for several years and then bought my first house and decided that since I no longer had to worry about moving, I was going to rebuild my physical library. Now I have to buy more bookshelves... 8y
Moray_Reads @britt_brooke Definitely. It's the words that matter most 💜💛💚💙 8y
britt_brooke @Moray_Reads Absolutely! 🙌🏻☺️💕 8y
rachelm @sparklemotion I can never read on a device before bed. It keeps me up! 8y
Varshitha I love my kindle but it can never beat the feel of smell of a physical book😁 8y
rachelm @Varshitha mmm. Book smell. I need that in a scented candle 😜 8y
TheCanuckReader I've tried e-readers, I really have...but I don't get the same rush as with a "real" book! 8y
BookNerdBritt I far prefer reading on my Kindle, but I like getting books signed 🤓 8y
amiller09 I read mostly on my ereader, otherwise I would never get to read. However, we do buy books that we think are important to have in the house and would want our kids to read. 8y
