Fables Vol. 19: Snow White | Bill Willingham
6 posts | 13 read | 4 to read
With Castle Dark now back in the hands of the Fables, mysteries both young and old begin to challenge the residents of Fabletown. Bigsby and Stinky set off from Fabletown in Rose Red's blood-fueled sports car to track down the two abducted cubs. Unfortunately for Snow White, besides suffering the trauma of having two of her cubs go missing, a long forgotten secret uncovered in Castle Dark threatens to sabatoge her and Bigsby's marriage. This volume also collects the backup adventures of Bufkin and Lily from issues #114-121, as well as their full length adventures found in issue #124. Collects FABLES #114-123 (back-up stories only) and #124-129.

Another one I didn‘t particularly enjoy. Started with the conclusion of Bufkin‘s adventures in Oz with Lily. Beast is trying to break a deal with the Blue Fairy by claiming that Geppetto is proposing marriage. Turns out Brandish was supposed to be Snow‘s first husband and is a huge a**hole to her. Bigby turns to glass and is shattered as Snow kills Brandish. Weird developments and still upset with where the authors have taken Snow‘s plot lines.

Pickpick

Zeus is always wondering what I'm doing (and why I'm not just paying him attention). #dogsoflitsy I love Snow White as a character in the Fables series. Her and Bigby make a better couple than I thought they would. Loved this volume!

Pickpick

Cold Saturday morning in Chicago, snuggled in my warm bed. Plan is to read issues 128-150 of Fables which will complete the series! This is a great story. They occasionally go off on these side stories that I just don't enjoy. The base ongoing story of these characters is wonderful. So engaging, so like able. The twists they came up with (like Cinderella the master spy) are so fun. I could do without Jack (of the beanstalk) otherwise, love it!
