I am so intrigued by this book. It's a dreamoir, filled with four years worth of the author's dreams. What a fascinating idea! #bruja #witchyreads

"I was surrounded by brindle-colored cats and dogs. I leaned down and hugged a dog-sized cat. Warmth enveloped me as I hugged this cat's neck and let my hands sink into her fur."
Best dream ever.
"I moaned long moans that stretched out into sobs as he was being pulled away from me, his arms failing to reach mine. The long pulling cries and sobs took up residence in my chest. I feared they would get stuck there, never leave."

Going with this clip art as I am not sure about Litsy rules and whatnot. What a strange little book! Can be read in a few hours, but it is very much a dream journal. It makes little sense, but I found it fascinating. I could not put it down. This is not going to be for everyone. Kinda like Fever Dream, but a bit less.
I don't think this is a book for everyone: it's a memoir of sorts that's told through her dreams. I love hearing about people's weird or odd dreams so I loved this. I think if you're the same sort of person you'll love it too. I think it's an interesting take on the memoir genre and was nice to read while reading a larger book because I didn't have to keep up with two narratives. Also: that cover is stunning.
1.) I love this cover. The artwork is stunning and done by Wendy Ortiz.
2.) I think I made some dude super uncomfortable by reading this at work.
3.) I give zero effs about that.
Amazingly happy to see Bruja by @wendy.c.ortiz at Skylight Bookstore, all the way in LA from her publishers CCM, and @mjseidlinger !
