I liked this quote that they sat on his friend I thought it was funny and kids would think it‘s funny

I would read this in a class of first and second graders, again while learning about friendship and maybe animals too.

I loved the bright backgrounds in this book. I noticed the pages had colorful and vibrant colors in the backs of most pages and it really helped to warm up the pages and create a more mystical look.

This book did a great job of putting the reader in the characters place. You could really understand the dynamic between characters and imagine yourself in the story. I think that is a unique feeling and this book captured it perfectly.

“The King and Queen
And I and all
My friends were seen
On Saturday at half past two
Having tea at the City Zoo.”
This story also used rhyme to keep the reader engaged.

The illustrations in this page are interesting because the pages with just the king and queen are black and white sketches. However the pages with the animals and the boy are always so colorful and intriguing.

This is an adorable story about a boy who is friends with a king and queen. They continue to invite him over and every time he brings a new animal friend. This story uses repetition to keep the plot and storyline engaging and interesting.

This is so vibrant and eye catching for children! But also could become difficult for the eye.

Mehso-so

Published in 1964 and awarded the Caldecott in 1965, this story is full of rhymes and repetition through text. The story is very predictable and it definitely comes in seven! I loved the vibrant colors and pop they gave in each page. The use of color was interesting because some pages had black and white and some have full vibrant color! The illustrations again really brought the story to my attention and made it a simple read for me!

OK, so I dress my lion for holidays🦁😬 This year for Halloween, something about him was nagging the back of my mind. I finally realized it was because of this book I used to read my sons when they were young. ☺️
