If I accomplish nothing else this weekend at least I got the stories/songs on the classroom iPad now. Groovy Joe has quickly become a new favorite in the classroom & we love the way Eric Litwin reads his stories.

This book was okay! It (of course) reminds me of "Pet the Cat". I believe that it teaches children about size, how to share and how to turn a negative situation into a positive one - all in a subliminal way. The next time I read this book I'll try to find the song that goes along with it (if there is one) - maybe then I'll like it more! #ucflae3414su17
Groovy Joe is an animal fantasy book written by Eric Litwin and Tom Lichtenheld. This book would be a great read aloud book because it is very interactive and repetitive. It has a great message about sharing, which can help in any classroom. https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/blog-posts/shari-carter/2017/Teaching-With-G... #UCFLAE3414sp17
This modern (animal) fantasy is a great book for EL students because the illustrations are very telling of what is happening in the story. There is also a lot of rhyming and repetition. This is a very comical story for K-2 students! I would recommend this. http://groovyjoestories.scholastic.com/ #UCFLAE3414sp17
I had the pleasure of seeing Eric Litwin singing and dancing to the delight of many children today at the WNY Children's Book Expo.
