As if witnessing a trailer featuring the likes of the Time Delorean and The Iron Giant, I knew only Spielberg could accomplish such a feat on screen. Buts it's Cline's imagination and excellent story telling that truly immerses you into the rich subculture of Geekdom and Gamers alike. Definitely for older students in Middle or High School, but truly great none the less. #ucflae3414sp17 #areyouready? #theoasisislife

This wordless RF picture book was very fun to read and surprisingly informational. It emulates the layout of a comic book, following a whimsical adventure through the National Gallery.

Here is a great resource to go along with this book

Ashleywwolfe OMG! I didn't read this so not sure if it's the same but there was a virtual tour of the museum .... that would be so cool to pair with this! https://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/webtours.htm (edited) 7y
DrSpalding Love the book @gracemccleskey and love the virtual tour idea @Ashleywwolfe ❤️📚 7y

Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace | George Lucas, Patricia C. Wrede

Mehso-so

This is a great Sci-Fi/Science-Fantasy for young readers who love Star Wars. This particular series was very popular when my older was growing up in his classrooms. I remember reading it alongside him when we were little and after rereading it, it was honestly not great for adults because it is so watered down.

Here is a resource for incorporating Star Wars into the classroom

tfundora I feel having books like this in your class room would be great because their are students who love star wars and that would definitely get them to read! 7y
DrSpalding Star Wars is EPIC! Super choice! 7y

This NF read almost gives the vibe of Fantasy when looking at the illustrations but it provides factual information about Katherine Lee Bates and "America the Beautiful" in a nice narrative tone.

Here is a great resource from the author for using it in the classroom:

I recently reread this HF book after reading the series as a child and I felt whole a new depth to the story. This is not only an engaging and mysterious read but great for learning vocabulary, as Lemony Snicket does a nice job defining new words as he uses them.

Kennedys This series appeals to me so much. I definitely want to keep these books in my classroom library and I love that you added your author study as a resource. 7y
casandraopont @gracemccleskey this book definitely takes me back! There is a series on netflix now and I'm kind of scared to watch it. 7y

This P book by Lang Leav was great after The Crossover by Kwame Alexander. I wouldn't recommend this book to younger readers as much as middle grade and high schoolers because if the interwoven themes of heartbreak, loss, and death.

Here is a link to some very fun and creative activities to incorporate poetry into the classroom.

Wow! This RF was such a great read with the girl I tutor. Highly functioning but diagnosed with severe autism, she related to this book well and it was a great kick-off into summer reading with her. I would highly recommend reading to students of any age.

Here is a great resource for incorporating this into the classroom:

Elizabethhunt96 Patricia Polacco is a great author! I'm really interested in reading all her books. This is a great book to promote acceptance of others with disabilities and disorders (if I'm gathering the right information from the resource). I also really like the resource too!! 7y
DrSpalding Excellent! You have been using great books while tutoring! Yes! 7y

Just finished rereading this fun F book, the BFG by Roald Dahl, after rediscovering it on my bookshelf. What a great book for young students to get into reading!

A great summer read for children grades 5-8, this AF is a supplement to the Warriors series. It follows the journey of a familiar main character on a journey to somewhere new. I recently reread this and still loved it.

Here's a link to a guide for how to use Erin Hunter's world, including books like this, in your classroom.

This was in the stack at the Dr's office so I read it to my youngest two while waiting. Sometimes The selection can be hit or miss, but you can tell someone donated some GREAT books recently! This book was perfect for that PreK and beginning readers because of the repetitive words, opposites, and excellent illustrations to help provide contest clues. Dr. Seuss is always a great choice to read! #ucflae3414sp17 #Seuss

DrSpalding You can't go wrong with Dr. Seuss @LaurenMcl Keep reading and posting! 7y
