From the New York Times bestselling author of The Program comes a brand-new haunting, romantic, and suspenseful story about one girls search for healing in a grand and mysterious hotel full of secrets. Stay tonight. Stay forever. When Audrey Casella arrives for an unplanned stay at the grand Hotel Ruby, shes grateful for the detour. Just months after their mothers death, Audrey and her brother, Daniel, are on their way to live with their grandmother, dumped on the doorstep of a DNA-matched stranger because their father is drowning in his grief. Audrey and her family only plan to stay the night, but life in the Ruby can be intoxicating, extending their stay as it provides endless distractionsincluding handsome guest Elias Lange, who sends Audreys pulse racing. However, the hotel proves to be as strange as it is beautiful. Nightly fancy affairs in the ballroom are invitation only, and Audrey seems to be the one guest who doesnt have an invite. Instead, she joins the hotel staff on the rooftop, catching whispers about the hotels dark past. The more Audrey learns about the new people shes met, the more her curiosity grows. Shes torn in different directionsthe pull of her past with its overwhelming loss, the promise of a future that holds little joy, and an in-between in a place that is so much more than it seems And the 13th chapter will only add to the mystery behind the 13th floor of Hotel Ruby...and ultimately, what it means for Audrey. Welcome to the Ruby.

Probably intended for YA audience but this was quite predictable and disappointing.

🎧 Libby YA horror.

Surprisingly fun read in the vein of The Sixth Sense.

Teenagers Aurora & Dan‘s mom died of cancer not long ago. Everyone‘s miserable.

The story begins with dad taking them to grandma‘s house to live. Before they get there they stop at Hotel Ruby & the fun begins!!

Atmospheric! Creepy! FUN! I‘d read another book by this author. Julia Whelan did a fantastic narration!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved Young's The Program series so was super excited to dive into this read when I got the ARC over five years ago. Then life happened and just got around to it when I came home for the holidays. It was an entertaining read, but I was a bit disappointed by the predictability. However, lots of reviews have an issue with the insta-love, but that didn't bother me at all. I loved the relationship--something positive amongst sadness.

When researching into what books I want to get, I discovered this book, at first I wasnt sure of the idea, but it gave me #AmericanHorrorStory vibes, when I recieved it, the first thing I noticed was the cover, it's so pretty. Whilst reading it I didn't have a clue what was going to happen, the twist at the end was one of the biggest I've ever read. There isn't a lot of character development, but i loved this book.

A really interesting premise. I probably would have rated it higher if I hadn't accidentally spoiled myself for it.

Like a mash up of The Shining and Hotel California, this was an amazingly dark read! Best read with (most) of the lights off.
