Loved it. Perfect antidote to dystopian overkill.

This P book is a companion to the New York Times Best Seller that was written by Mary Ann Hoberman and illustrated by Michael Emberly has a great anthology of different short poems students can easily read. It would be perfect for a PR, the book has lines that are color-coded so students can choose among themselves what color they want to read and have a conversation through a poem.

sbombasi This specific version is perfect for the month of October and the theme of Halloween. The educator‘s guide has curriculum connections to reading aloud, phonetics, and rhyming. Some of these activities includes creating a work wall/rhyming dictionary and word match.

sbombasi The UDL principle 8.3 foster collaboration and community along with EL #8 use direct instruction: modeling, explaining, scaffolding, name the strategy and show how to use it work well with this. #ucflae3414f19 15h

There‘s a Monster Under My Bed written by James Howe and illustrated by David Rose. This book a F genre and would be a great S. My students love when I read this book. This book would be great for Halloween. This story is about a boy who thinks there is monsters under the bed and he wished that he had the night light that his mom offered but said no because he was a big boy and didn‘t need it. Read the story to find out if there is a monster...?

AlyssaB An UDL strategy would be 7.3 minimize threats and distractions. An ESOL strategy would be 22 to give enough wait time for second language learners to respond to questions. #UCFLAE3414F19 20h
AlyssaB This resource is a cute activity allowing kids to draw and create what their monster would look like: http://mrsjacksonartbd.weebly.com/art-room-blog/theres-a-monster-under-my-bed 20h

After several heavy reads this was a nice change of pace. Light, fun storyline that I really enjoyed.

?? Little One Book Review: Mommy and I read this book on Halloween night. Although we liked it, we didn't love it. "Bone Soup" was inspired by another story called "Stone Soup." (There's a brief description of the original story in the back of the book.) This will be a very quick review.

Read together October 31, 2019

Rating: 3/5 ⭐️

Book #6 in our "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten" challenge

Review is continued in the comments section ⬇️

Readage Three witches (who are rather cute, we must say) are trying to make Bone Soup, and they need a wide variety of necessary ingredients to fill their cauldron. It takes the work of several hideous creatures (including a vampire, goblin, ghost, monster, mummy, etc) to gather and combine the ingredients, making this book a moral story about teamwork and helpfulness toward others. 1d
Readage Although we appreciate the lesson of the story, the book was a little longer than we liked. For us, it was one of those books that you can read just once and not revisit. The three stars are primarily because of the illustrations, which are quite adorable. 1d
Lifeisasnap Love the illustrations! Story was a little long... 1d
Readage @Lifeisasnap Yes...completely agree 👍 1d

Loved it. Perfect Halloween reading for me: low stakes, no horror, plenty of humour. Brilliant.

My first finish of #mrbook1inamillion #litsypartyofone and #24b4monday. This is a total #blameitonlitsy and am I ever thankful. I adored the story of Deja and Josiah on their last night at the Pumpkin Patch. This was also my introduction to Rainbow Rowell, and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Andrew65 Well done! 👏👏👏 2d
