A cautionary tale and a stunning work of art. As with Carpe Fin, I love the unique fluid framing of multiple panels per page, to give such life to the action, to make full use of the space, but was blown away at the instructions at the end revealing another layer to it all. 👌🏻

A Haida story of revenge told in manga style. As with most manga I absolutely fell in love with the artwork and was a tad confused with the story. The artwork is just that...an absolute work of art. You can tear the pages of the book out to creat a massive 13 foot mural...as tempted as I was to do so I figure I should return it to the library unscathed and buy my own copy. Loved this genre blending book. #integrateyourshelf

If you want to check out a truly unique and mind-blowing comic format, seek out Red: A Haida Manga. It gives classic Haida storytelling and imagery a manga sensibility. It is painted. AND its panels can be arranged to form a 13 FOOT mural. I mean, seriously.

Rereading one of the most formally significant comics in the history of Canadian comics for a journal article I'm revising. If you haven't yet encountered RED, you really must.
