This one was better than the first in the series and pretty much on the same level as the second. One of the more interesting characters from the first book was back and featured prominently, but one of the best characters from the second book was missing completely. The story itself was pretty solid, though predictable. The best part wasn't even the mystery, though, it was the side plot featuring Brigid's parents and their history.

Another awesome addition to one of my favorite series! This wasn't even my favorite book out of the series and it was still way better than others like it. Very good but now begins the long wait for book four. #favoriteauthor

I love crime novels and I really enjoyed this one. A retired FBI agent, Brigid comes to help a former partner on a case for a guy who is on death row. Her partner think she didn't do it. Brigid has her own issues to deal with that make you really connect with her as a character. Well written, great pacing, interesting characters, I will be reading more of Becky Masterman. Oh and then I find out that there are TWO novels previous to this one!

I enjoyed this book. I have liked all the books in this series. This was a quick read and I enjoy the main character, even with her flaws. Overall, a good read.

I picked up Becky Masterman's crime thriller not realising that it was the third in a series and I think you need to read the earlier books to understand the family and friendship dynamics as I found both them and Quinn's behaviour around them difficult to believe in while the mystery itself never really grabbed me and becomes overwhelmed by Quinn's family problems.
