I really enjoyed this book! Once I started reading, I had a hard time putting it down, I wound up finishing it in two days. I enjoyed the blending of crime and legal thriller. The characters were easy to connect with and I liked the way that the author brought current events into the story. This book is a pick for me!

This was just okay for me. The first 1/2 of this book had me hooked, and I found this to be a fast and easy read. However, I did not love all of the twists and ultimately the story was just so-so for me. Also, the hints at the outside world were never followed up on, and I found it distracted from the story more than making me curious.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! This book was quick paced and I found myself very engaged in the mystery. I also love it when authors use the book within a book format and I felt that worked well here. I enjoyed the alternating perspectives, although I didn‘t connect with my the daughter character as much as the others. Overall, this was a definite pick for me!

This was a great read! It really sucked me in and I just had to keep reading. The husband and wife pair in this story have such a twisted relationship that I could not wait to find out what would happen next. This was a great debut novel and I can‘t wait to read what the author writes next. A definite pick for me!

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would based off of other reviews. This is not a fast paced thriller, but instead focuses on the secrets between a group of college friends. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy murder mysteries in a contained setting as well as books focused on interpersonal relationships between friends. This book wound up being a pick for me!

This was a really quick and engaging read. However, it was only so-so for me because I did not connect with or even really like any of the characters. I enjoyed the story while I was reading it, but ultimately it felt really unbelievable and there were parts of the story I wish had been fleshed out and explained a bit more.

This book was wonderful. Although I love mysteries and thrillers, I am not usually a reader of true crime. However, the writing of this book was so engaging that it did not feel like non-fiction. This book was engaging and provided so much information while also having so much respect for the victims and investigators. When the book ended, I felt sad that I would not get to read any more books by Ms. McNamara. This was a fantastic pick for me!

I enjoyed this book. It took me until I was about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way in to really get hooked; but once I was I did not want to put the book down. There were parts of the story that felt a little unbelievable, but not so much that it took me out of the story in the moment. I will definitely be reading the next book!

I enjoyed this book. This was a very fast read. I enjoyed that the mystery at the center of this book was not something that I had read before. At first, the mystery felt a little slow, but after a few chapters I settled into the groove of the story. I enjoyed the characters, particularly Murray. I appreciated the glimpses into his life. Overall, this book was a pick for me.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the contrasting chapters with every other chapter being a flashback to what happened in the woods. These were some of my favorite parts and really helped to build the tension. The other chapters focused on the present investigation and on finding the the missing hiker. I found Aaron Falk and his partner to be interesting characters and I enjoyed reading about their investigation. This was a pick for me!

This book was awesome! Even though it is over 400 pages long, I read it in 3-4 days. Joona Linna and Saga Bauer were both equally interesting and strong main characters. The villain, Walter Jurek, was genuinely frightening. I also really enjoyed the structure of the novel. The book is made up of very short chapters. This made the book fly by and caused me to keep reading. This book is a definite pick for me!

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and I enjoyed that the main character was interested in true crime. I found the parts of the story that took place in the past to be really interesting and could have read a whole book focused on the historical crime. I do wish that the ending had been wrapped up a bit more, but it is obvious that this will be a series. Overall, this book was a pick for me.

I enjoyed this book. The setting of the prison was very claustrophobic, but I enjoyed that the author cut between that storyline and the storyline of Helen Grace‘s allies in the police station. This kept the book from dragging. I‘m excited to see what happens next to Helen Grace.
