so-soI quite liked this. It‘s a quick read and, unfortunately, the first in a series. I will continue on (if I can find the next book(s), as this one was originally published in 1978). I don‘t read a lot of Christmas-themed books, so the Christmas-y stuff was kind of fun, too.
pickThis is the first Charlotte MacLeod book I‘ve read and it is the first in the Peter Shandy series. It was a delightful cozy mystery set on the campus of Balaclava Agricultural College during the Christmas Grand Illumination Festival. I‘m happy to find that Charlotte MacLeod was quite prolific and I will definitely seek out more of this series and her other series as well. It was a fun, quick holiday read-just what I needed during this busy time!
so-soPeter Shandy is a professor at the esteemed Balaclava College. During Illumination, the college Christmas celebration, Shandy stumbles onto not just one, but two dead bodies. When the authorities don't seem to share his sense of urgency, Shandy does some detective work of his own.
While I felt this dragged a tad in some parts, I enjoyed the story as a whole and would like to read the next in the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Trying hard to power through this...it may be because I read so many forensic thrillers, but when someone dies and no one calls the police and tries to figure it out themselves, I start to question everyone's sanity. 😂

My husband got Final Fantasy XV on release day...but this is his first day off since. This has been my view of him allllll day. 😂 💓I tried playing it...but combat is pretty difficult and I gave up.
