Death Makes a Holiday
Death Makes a Holiday: A Cultural History of Halloween | David J. Skal
2 posts | 3 read | 6 to read
Using a mix of personal anecdotes and perceptive social analysis, acclaimed cultural critic David J. Skal examines the amazing phenomenon of Halloween, exploring its dark Celtic history and illuminating why it has evolved-in the course of a few short generations-from a quaint, small-scale celebration into the largest seasonal marketing event outside of Christmas.

Booksnchill @skeletonkey I am only 35% done- it is very Jellyfish fact based along with the author‘s own exploration and study- I like it but it is firmly in the jellyfish facts camp- but me, I got it from the library😎 7y
SkeletonKey @Booksnchill - I am kind of obsessed with jellyfish and books about them are really scant and far between. It is probably inevitable that it ends up on my shelf 😂 I was drawing jellyfish last night just thinking about it. 7y
Booksnchill @SkeletonKey then absolutely and the cover is so awesome! 7y
