I am finally finished with this book!! I loved it!! But I‘m so confused with the ending, There has been a it of debate or discussion as to what happened to the Romanov family; Did they die, did they escape; I have been fairly certain they probably were put to death and if it‘s up for debate if any or one of the children escaped- until now! Now I‘m wondering if the tsarina of all ppl survived- I want to find the author and ask 😁

Freespirit Hi @Lauraandherbooks. This book looks great. I was blessed to recently to travel to Saint Petersburg where I visited the graves of the Romanovs. The story is fascinating...how the bodies were found, DNA tested and reburied. Will have to read this one! 4y
Lauraandherbooks @Freespirit yes i watched a documentary that Gorbachev had the remains properly buried but their were still more but Putin will not allow the remaining bodies to be buried... The other story of the Romanovs I read was different than this one and the ending was completely different and now I‘m frustrated as to what was the real ending 4y

Still reading this book , I love it and it‘s well written; Rasputin is only mentioned a few times, it‘s almost like another side of the Romanov story being told , and you realize how the downfall happened- this family just seemed so out of touch of what was happening around them with all the balls while the citizens were starving, that is my perspective, very interesting read

One corner in my library now turned office as well , it‘s a small room and I had to put the other book shelves on the other wall so it is a cozy room but it is my little get away

The more I get into these books of royals the lifestyle is a bit mind blowing, the whole idea of being thrown to the wolves in a manner of speaking is way too common and way too easy , while at the same to remain the appearance of prim and proper .. what balance 😬 either way as a person who is so intrigued by history this book is interesting a good mix of facts with dramatized fiction ✅👌🖤

Yes I‘m starting this one after finishing #rasputin.. I‘m guessing it‘s another look at basically the same story from a different view.. we shall see what queen victoria thinks of all this 😉
