pickThis is not supposed to be a very popular Dickens' book, but I really enjoyed it. It lacks many elements of an ordinary Dickens' novel--no ghosts, no morality lessons. But the humor is top notch and I found myself laughing out loud. It may be because I am an attorney and the storyline about the attorneys was drop-dead hilarious. I recommend it for that alone. pickDefinitely not Dickens‘ best, but this story is sweet and has that Christmas element I was looking for. And there is a moment near the end when we learn something about Marion that is very heartbreaking.
The Battle of Life | 
Someone published this book as an annotated and illustrated version. The annotations are about all the criticisms (oh heavens, it doesn't follow the Dickens' model!) and the illustrations are completely unrelated to the story (see cover for example). Some illustrations are idiotic and childish. Please, skip this version (not tagged).
